Biographical Note

Walter N. Day (1906-2002) of Norco, Louisiana, visited New Orleans frequently from 1960 until 1990.  An avid and accomplished photographer, he documented his visits by taking slides of the various sites and events he witnessed.  His son, Ray Day, recalls that his father “loved composing just the right picture.”  The order in which Mr. Day arranged his slides—chronological, with slight variations—has been maintained.  Most slides contain additional description and specific date.
