ANTH 1010: Find Books

This is a research guide for ANTH 1010

Other Sources for Books (beyond UNO Library)

  • WorldCat   -- This database combines contents of thousands of library catalogs, allowing you to search millions of records of books and other material.
  • Google BooksSearch the full-text of over 10 million books.  Content availability varies.

Please note that if you identify a book that is not available in the UNO Library Catalog, you may request it through Interlibrary Loan.

UNO Catalog (books available at UNO Library)

  • Use the UNO Library's online catalog to locate books in the library.  You can use the author search or the title search to look up a specific book. You can also search by keyword to search all of the information in the catalog records, for any reference to a word or phrase, including some tables of contents.

  • Be sure to jot down the call number for the book (e.g., GN346.5 .K39 2010).  This tells you exactly where the book is located in the Library.  Take note of any special locations, such as Louisiana Collection.  The Stacks Location Chart will show the correct floor and aisle for the call number.

  •  Electronic books are also included in the catalog.  You can limit your search to e-books by selecting “Electronic Book” from the “Material Type” pull-down menu.  To see an e-book from the catalog, just click on the URL in the record to access an electronic version of a book (login required for off-campus access).
  • Electronic books can also be searched by going to these individual e-book collections and searching the full-text content:

      §  EBSCO e-books

      §  ProQuest Ebook Central
