Want to learn more about the LGBTQ history of New Orleans, including literary giants, the work of local activists, Southern Decadence, Mardi Gras, and more? Come check out the new summer exhibit in the Special Collections Exhibits Gallery: Highlighting LGBTQ Books & Archives in New Orleans

This exhibit highlights books and archival materials related to the LGBTQ community within the Louisiana Collection and the Special Collections of the University of New Orleans. The majority of these materials: are about the LGBTQ community of New Orleans; chronicle LGBTQ history in New Orleans; and are written by LGBTQ voices from New Orleans and/or Louisiana.


This exhibit will be on view from June through August 2024.

This bibliography of books and newspapers accompanies the exhibit, which highlights books and archival materials related to the LGBTQ community within the Louisiana Collection and the Special Collections of the University of New Orleans.
