Reserves Circulation Policy

Reserves materials are books, DVDs or CDs that have been selected by instructors and made available for short-term loans at UNO library. All reserves materials are located at the Services Desk on the first floor of the library. They cannot be reserved for check out ahead of time and are available on a first come, first serve basis.

To borrow reserves materials a current UNO ID card must be presented to Services Desk staff. Reserves materials can be borrowed for:

• 3 hours
• Overnight
• 3 days

Items borrowed for three hours must remain in the library; all other items may be taken out of the library. Overdue fines for items borrowed for three hours are $0.50 per hour per item. Overdue fines for all other items are $5.00 per day per item. Fines are not assessed for scheduled library closure days.

If reserve materials are not returned or are returned with damages, service and replacement charges will be assessed. Service and replacement costs are an additional charge to any overdue fines already accrued.

All fines are paid online via your library account. Remember, there are no charges associated with reserve items returned on time and undamaged.
