                                    70:  Material related to the Southern College of Music, which was first located at 1405 St. Mary Street and later at 1461 - 1465 Magazine Street, New Orleans, Louisiana.  Established in 1895, the school functioned until the middle 1930s.

 

70-2                            Miscellany (clippings, correspondence, invitations, pamphlets, postcards), ca. 1900 - 1929.  40 items

 

70-1                            Photographs (prints; interior and exterior of 1461 - 1465 Magazine Street; faculty and students; Mardi Gras scenes), ca. 1920.  5 items

 

70-3                            Programs (annual Pupils recital), 1896 - 1902, 1904, 1906, 1907, 1910 - 1929.  99 items

 

                                    75:  Group of business records (daybooks and Journals) apparently from one source, probably the firm of “H. H. Gogreve, dry goods, etc.  Canal avenue [now Carrollton Avenue]” listed in Cohen’s New Orleans Directory...for 1854...New Orleans, 1854.  Accounts appear to be mainly for residents of Carrollton, Louisiana, and include entries for the New Orleans and Carrollton Railroad, the Town of Carrollton, and the Carrollton Fire Company No. 1.  Merchandise sold includes items of food, clothing, lumber, and hardware.  9 bound volumes.
