Biographical Note
Marda Burton (b. 1932) is an award-winning travel journalist who has written hundreds of articles, both for the traveling public and for the travel industry since she began travel free-lancing in 1979. In addition, she coauthored the book Galatoire’s: Biography of a Bistro.
A native of Laurel, Mississippi, Burton visited New Orleans in the 1980s on .assignment for Travel + Leisure magazine. The city’s literary atmosphere captivated her, and she decided to make New Orleans her home. Currently Burton divides her time between the city and Highlands, N.C.
