Evening/ Night Student Worker

LIBRARY STUDENT ASSISTANT (EVENING/NIGHT HOURS)

EARL K. LONG LIBRARY, UNIVERSITY OF NEW ORLEANS

 

SUMMARY: Works under the supervision of the Library’s night staff. Will be responsible to serve as a peer role model in following library policies during late-night hours. Will assist the Library’s night staff in providing headcounts, maintaining a clean and orderly library. Assist users in some technical functions such as print jams, adding paper and toner to printers, and use of scanners. Maintain positive interactions with library users.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Present a positive and helpful personae
  • Monitor assigned areas and report problems to the night supervisor
  • Provide headcounts at assigned times on assigned floors/areas of the Library
  • Encourage compliance with library policies including food and drink policy. Report non-compliance to night supervisor
  • Report spills and graffiti in the Library to the night supervisor
  • Straighten furniture
  • Monitor and replace paper and toner in the Learning Commons printers as needed
  • Provide technical assistance with large and small document scanners
  • Other duties as assigned

 

WORK HOURS:

 6 pm - 10 pm

until midnight during finals
