  Scan on Demand

What is Scan on Demand?

Scan on Demand allows you to request scans of articles and chapters from journals and books owned by the Library.

How does it work?

Scan on Demand requests are submitted and managed using ILLiad, which is our Interlibrary Loan application.

You can submit Scan on Demand requests in three ways:

- By using the Scan on Demand link in OneSearch.

- By using the Scan on Demand link in the library catalog.

- By logging in to your ILLiad account.

Once your request is received, UNO library staff will scan the article or chapter, and send a notification to your UNO email address. It can then be downloaded as a PDF file from your ILLiad account.

If you need more help using Scan on Demand, check out our Scan on Demand help page.

Is there anything I can't request?

Yes, all requests must comply with federal copyright regulations, which limits the amount of material that can be scanned from both books and journals. We are unable to scan entire issues of journals, or entire books. If you would like to borrow a journal issue or book, please place a hold request.

Requests for scans of items held in Special Collections will be cancelled. Please see the Special Collections Reproduction Policies web page for information about how to request scans of materials from Special Collections.
