Borrowing Privileges

Special Borrowers

While Special Borrowers are allowed access to the library's online resources in the building, these resources are not available remotely.

Books will not be held for Special Borrower's who have not been issued a library card.

Alumni: Members of the Alumni Association will need to present an Alumni membership card, along with a picture ID to  be issued a UNO Library Special Borrower's card. Find out more about joining the Alumni Association here. They will need to fill out a Special Borrower's File card while at the Services desk. Alumni can check out five items at a time for three weeks with one renewal. Alumni may check out books and circulating federal documents from the general stacks and circulating AV and datafiles. Exceptions include student government purchased DVDs and leisure reading books from the 2nd floor of the Library. While Alumni Association memberships do not expire, the UNO Library's Special Borrower's card needs to be renewed every three years. However, delinquency in returning materials, or charges to the Alumni account, may result in the account being canceled. Any blocks must be cleared in full to reinstate the account. Excessive instances may permanently bar Alumni from using the UNO Library. Emailed notices are sent for overdue materials. The UNO Library is not responsible for misdirected emails.
